Nepal: Child singer Sachin Pariyar has passed away at the age of 13. According to hospital sources, Pariyar died during treatment at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital at 10:49 am on Thursday.
Pariyar, who had gained fame for his songs and music
videos, was beloved by many. He had sung and acted in several well-known
productions, including the song ‘Bar ko Chhayanle’, which featured Rajesh Hamal
alongside singers Kamala Ghimire, Karuna Rai, and Govinda Paudel.
His music video for the song ‘Otha Kholera’, showcasing
both his voice and acting, garnered over 19 million views on YouTube as of
Thursday. Pariyar also collaborated with Asmita Adhikari on the song ‘Ke Chha
Ra Hajur’.
Over the past few years, concerns about his health had
surfaced on social media. His father, Tejendra Pariyar, had previously shared
updates on his condition and ongoing treatment.
What happened to Sachin?
Issuing a statement on Thursday, the hospital confirmed
that Pariyar had been treated there for over five years for various health
issues. He was diagnosed with a congenital trilateral ventricular cyst and had
undergone neurosurgery to manage the condition.
He was also living with central diabetes insipidus, for
which he was prescribed daily medication.
However, non-compliance with treatment advice had led to
repeated hospital admissions. This time, Pariyar was admitted on December 28
with acute fever, seizures, and altered consciousness. His condition rapidly
deteriorated, with complications including pneumonia, multiple organ
dysfunction, acute kidney injury, encephalopathy, severe infection, and a
bleeding disorder.
Despite intensive care in the paediatric ICU, including
ventilatory support, antibiotics, and blood transfusions, his health worsened.
On the fifth day of his hospitalisation, severe pulmonary bleeding caused a
critical lack of oxygen, leading to cardiac arrest. Although doctors attempted
life-saving measures, Pariyar could not be revived and passed away on January 2 at 10:49 am.
